Matou e comeu.<\/p>\n<p>O povo e os parentes da pequena v\u00edtima, reagiram veementemente. N\u00e3o preocupava \u00e0quela altura, se prejudicaria o trabalho paciente mas superficial dos padres da Companhia Jesu\u00edtica.<\/p>\n<p>Intencionava imolar a tradi\u00e7\u00e3o cultural da antropofagia, que irrompera, inusitadamente amea\u00e7ando a cultura branca, europ\u00e9ia.<\/p>\n<p>O Superior da miss\u00e3o n\u00e3o pode se omitir na circunst\u00e2ncia, mas n\u00e3o podia usar de viol\u00eancia, segundo a norma invariavelmente adotada nos m\u00e9todos da catequese dos disc\u00edpulos de Santo In\u00e1cio.<\/p>\n<p>Tinha por\u00e9m que impor o castigo exigido. E mandou que o \u00edndio farto das carnes da crian\u00e7a, ficasse dentro d\u2019\u00e1gua, at\u00e9 que fosse chamado.<\/p>\n<p>Assim sendo, o \u00edndio ficou l\u00e1, mas quando procurado n\u00e3o foi encontrado. Foi quando come\u00e7ou a aparecer nas \u00e1guas da lagoa um Peixe-boi indo e vindo de um lado para o outro. Alta noite, o que se ouvia, subindo das \u00e1guas salgadas da lagoa, era o gemido pavoroso de tremer, horripilante, dolorido, inesquec\u00edvel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-163652 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/lab.fabricadelandings.com.br\/portalsaofrancisconovo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Lagoa-8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"201\" height=\"224\" \/><strong>Lagoa das Guara\u00edras<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-163653 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/lab.fabricadelandings.com.br\/portalsaofrancisconovo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Lagoa-9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"292\" height=\"191\" \/><strong>Lagoa das Guara\u00edras<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A tremenda expia\u00e7\u00e3o devia perdurar por muitos anos, segundo senten\u00e7a do mission\u00e1rio. Os pescadores iam pescar e voltavam, a rede enxuta sem peixe nenhum.<\/p>\n<p>Antes de dar o primeiro lan\u00e7o, o Peixe-boi aparecia varejando a canoa com toda a velocidade poss\u00edvel.<\/p>\n<p>De l\u00e1 de baixo subia o gemido cortante, agoniado e rouco, como se algu\u00e9m estivesse afogando.<\/p>\n<p>Era o \u00edndio que devorara a crian\u00e7a.<\/p>\n<p>Os gemidos eram mais feios, mais lancinantes, pungentes, mais magoados nas noites de luar. E quando a mareta se erguia, via-se ao reflexo da lua, o dorso do Peixe-boi que subia \u00e0 superf\u00edcie.<\/p>\n<p>O Pior era a incerteza. O Peixe-boi em toda a parte. Certa noite, era l\u00e1 no canto do Borquei. Outra, no c\u00f3rrego da Capivaras, e sobretudo, na Barra do Tibau, vinham aos ouvidos os urros tremendamente feios, medonhos, apavorantes!!!!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Singular destino dessa lagoa.<br \/>\nQuando menos se espera, o mar a devolve. Depois retoma.<br \/>\nTudo \u00e9 um precioso mist\u00e9rio.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Em Tibau do Sul-RN na\u00a0<strong>Lagoa das Guara\u00edras<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img
