O que \u00e9 o CARICOM?<\/strong><\/p>\n

O espa\u00e7o geogr\u00e1fico em escala mundial \u00e9 organizado pol\u00edtica e economicamente a fim de evitar conflitos entre os pa\u00edses, al\u00e9m disso, essa organiza\u00e7\u00e3o visa manter as estruturas hegem\u00f4nicas do atual sistema predominante, que \u00e9 o capitalismo, expressas sobretudo, no sistema financeiro, na cultura e nas rela\u00e7\u00f5es sociais.<\/p>\n

\u00c9 o que se verifica quando se analisa o bloco econ\u00f4mico CARICOM<\/strong>, que por defini\u00e7\u00e3o significa, Mercado Comum e Comunidade do Caribe<\/strong>, cuja cria\u00e7\u00e3o se deu no dia 4 de julho de 1973, buscando uma integra\u00e7\u00e3o regional entre os pa\u00edses pr\u00f3ximos e que pertencem ao Caribe.<\/p>\n

Esse bloco econ\u00f4mico foi criado pelo Tratado de Chaguarama, e tem suas ra\u00edzes hist\u00f3ricas e geopol\u00edticas na expans\u00e3o da antiga Associa\u00e7\u00e3o de Livre-Com\u00e9rcio Caribenho (Carifta).<\/p>\n

Nele fazem parte os pa\u00edses:<\/strong> Ant\u00edgua, Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Granada, Guiana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Santa L\u00facia, S\u00e3o Crist\u00f3v\u00e3o e Nevis, S\u00e3o Vicente e Granadinas, Suriname, Trinidad e Tobago,que em geral, s\u00e3o antigas col\u00f4nias europeias, sobretudo, da Inglaterra.<\/p>\n

\"CARICOM\"<\/p>\n

Sua sede \u00e9 localizada na cidade de Georgetown, na Guiana, pa\u00eds que faz fronteira internacional com o estado brasileiro de Roraima na regi\u00e3o da Am\u00e9rica do Sul. Sua l\u00edngua oficial \u00e9 o ingl\u00eas, sendo que sua estimativa populacional \u00e9 de 16,9 milh\u00f5es de habitantes distribu\u00eddas em todos os territ\u00f3rios de aproximadamente 458,480 km\u00b2, tendo o Produto Interno Bruto anual (PIB) chegado a 32 bilh\u00f5es de d\u00f3lares.<\/p>\n

Al\u00e9m disso, em 1994 com o desenvolvimento da CARICOM, foi criada a Associa\u00e7\u00e3o dos Estados do Caribe (AEC), a qual incorporou outros pa\u00edses da regi\u00e3o, como, Cuba, M\u00e9xico, Col\u00f4mbia, Panam\u00e1, Venezuela, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicar\u00e1gua, Guatemala e Costa Rica.<\/p>\n

Entre os principais objetivos do Mercado Comum e Comunidade do Caribe s\u00e3o o aumento das exporta\u00e7\u00f5es de a\u00e7\u00facar, bauxita, alum\u00ednio e derivados do petr\u00f3leo, objetivando a distribui\u00e7\u00e3o igualit\u00e1ria dos recursos entre os pa\u00edses membros, dando maiores assist\u00eancias aos mais necessitados. Al\u00e9m disso, procuram promover as coopera\u00e7\u00f5es na cultura, na educa\u00e7\u00e3o, no desenvolvimento tecnol\u00f3gico e cientifico, bem como da expans\u00e3o industrial e do turismo. Desenvolvendo uma harmoniza\u00e7\u00e3o macroecon\u00f4mica atrav\u00e9s de pol\u00edticas externas e internas.<\/p>\n

Associam-se ainda a este bloco econ\u00f4mico, a Universidade da Guiana, o Banco de Desenvolvimento do Caribe e a Universidade das \u00cdndias Ocidentais.<\/p>\n
